Utilidata® High Speed Mobile Data

Utilcomm has designed a data interface for use with the SRM series of mobile radio which supports 9600 baud data rates in a truly mobile environment. This data module is available in frequency ranges 150MHz thru 869MHz, without degradation. The interface was designed for supporting the ever growing demand for mobile data. Many utilities have realized the need; however, have not been able to justify the cost for a separate data and voice network or utilize the extremely narrow 1200/2400 baud pipe offered by other solutions.

Reliable Data Rates
The reliability of data transfer is maintained by switching on the Forward Error Correction (FEC) which has been optimized for the mobile environment. Should the software application being utilized offer FEC, the hardware FEC may be switched off.

The unit is designed to install internally into our SRM radio along with the internal GPS receiver. This design eliminates the need for external modules keeping the mobile installation footprint small.
